ASW XXXX x 1944 with scabbard 3878 K - E u. F Hörster - Solingen - reworked - i believe the bayonet and scabbard has been together for a long time when you look at the set together they have the same matching finish i believe is from period rework. perhaps the original bajonet was lost when it was being reworked they didnt always make a rework stamp to keep them together. my suggestion of the serial for the bayonet is 9187 the suffix if any ? is totally grinded away. As you can see the bayonet serial was grinded away before the bayonet was in the "bath".. serial error at the factory ? or they just lost track of the bayonet and scabbard when it was being reworked and just grinded the serial off who knows ? the scabbard is also missing the little screw instead it has a aluminium button in its place.
